A second Iraq War veteran said he was injured by police at the Occupy Oakland protests. Kayvan Sabehgi, 32, who was hospitalized and is in intensive care with a lacerated spleen, told The Guardian three or four police officers “tackled me and arrested me” after hitting his arm and legs with a baton. Sabehgi said he was being “totally peaceful” before his arrest. After being handcuffed and placed in a police van for about three hours before being taken to police station, he said he was not allowed to leave despite complaining of “unbelievable pain.” While his bail was posted shortly after his arrest, he said he was unable to leave his cell due to the pain. An ambulance arrived a few hours later. Scott Olsen, another veteran, suffered a fractured skull on Oct. 25 during an Occupy Oakland protest.
