Second Teen Charged in Facebook Live Assault

A second Chicago teen has been charged in connection to the group sexual assault of a 15-year-old that was broadcast on Facebook and viewed by dozens of people online, police said. The first suspect, a 14-year-old boy, was arrested over the weekend. The second teen, a 15-year-old boy, went with his mother to surrender to police Monday, said Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. “He is being questioned before going to juvenile detention,” said Guglielmi. He has been charged with criminal sexual assault and with manufacturing and distribution of child pornography. But police say they have struggled to identify the others who were involved in the assault. “She’s just having such a difficult time even communicating what occurred to her,” Cmdr. Brendan Deenihan said of the teen girl. “We obviously have a video of the incident, so we have verifiable objective evidence of what occurred to this young lady, but she’s just having a very difficult time.”
