Selfridges Opening World’s Largest Shoe Department
More than 4,000 pairs; opens Sept. 23.
Somewhere, Carrie Bradshaw is shrieking with glee. British department store Selfridges has announced its plans to open the world’s largest shoe department on September 23. The new section will be located on the store’s second floor and will house more than 4,000 pairs of shoes, including more than 30 exclusive styles designed just for Selfridges. The space will include 11 “apartment” boutiques for the department’s premiere labels—including, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Prada, and Gucci—which will each be designed in accordance with the labels’ distinct looks.
