Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) cast Brett Kavanaugh as the “slut whore drunk” of accuser Christine Blasey Ford’s story as he was leaving the Capitol after the senate vote, NBC News reports. When asked if he thought sexual assault survivors would be less likely to come forward with their stories after Kavanaugh was confirmed, he said he didn’t think so because Ford was “treated well” by the Senate Judiciary Committee. “I think the roles were reversed: The slut whore drunk was Kavanaugh,” he said. He told reporters it would have been “unjust” for Kavanaugh to “have his life ruined based on the allegations that were presented.” He also said Ford, who accused Kavanaugh of attempting to sexually assault her in high school, was a “victim of a process.” “[W]e've got to have some verifications, some sense of balance, because if that's enough, just the mere accusation, then you're going to unleash Pandora's Box here,” he said. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) also reacted to Kavanaugh's by posting a photo of a glass of champagne on Twitter with this caption: “Not quite #Beers4Brett but #Bubbly4Brett instead.”
