It's all in the Senate's hands now. Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are close to finalizing a deal to reopen the government and avoid debt default ahead of the midnight Thursday deadline—and the House could vote on that deal to save time and get it to Obama by Thursday. The Senate left Tuesday night at 10 p.m. with nothing firm in place, will reconvene at noon Wednesday. All eyes are on them to hammer out a deal after House negotiations fell apart Tuesday night.
