Does this mean it’s time to move on? The Senate shot down the GOP-led repeal of the health-care law Wednesday, with lawmakers voting strictly along partisan lines. All 50 Democrats and one independent voted to kill the repeal measure, while all 47 Republicans voted to continue; 13 Democrats would have been needed to cross the aisle for it to proceed. The party unity came as a surprise to some, since there are a number of vulnerable Democrats in conservative districts that have voiced concerns about the law. But there was one victory for the GOP: The Senate did approve to repeal one portion of the health-care law, nixing the law’s tax-reporting requirement. Amid recent court rulings declaring the law unconstitutional, Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) introduced a resolution Wednesday to have the Supreme Court extradite its review of it.
