Seng's Sketchy Signatures Might Kill Campaign

Questionable Support

Officials evaluating petition today.

Joe Seng is experiencing a setback on his mission to challenge Rep. Dave Loebsack in Iowa's Democratic primary. The state senator has more than a few questionable signatures on his nominating petitions, including a known felon, several illinois residents, and signatures without a last name or proper address. It's also been discovered that some of the people in one county who signed the petition only did so after a fellow veterinarian bought them "many rounds of drinks" at a local bar. A panel of state officials will evaluate the signatures and determine whether enough of them are valid for him to proceed to the primary.
