The police chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency was indicted on Saturday on charges of negligence in the Halloween 2022 crowd crush that killed nearly 160 people in Itaewon, Reuters reports. Seoul police chief Kim Kwang-ho is the highest ranking official to face charges for the stampede. According to the investigation team, the police did not adequately devise safety measures to prevent the deadly incident.
