Serena Williams Pens Heartwarming Letter to Her Mother

The tennis legend just wrote the sweetest letter to her role model.

Tennis superstar Serena Williams recently gave birth to a baby girl named Alexis Olympia, and she took this time to reflect and thank the woman she admires most: her mother. Williams begins by saying she noticed her daughter has her strong body and how she has been under scrutiny for looking “stronger than many other women do.” She then describes how her mother kept her cool over the years and did not go off on every “hater” that came after Williams. “You are so classy, I only wish I could take your lead,” Williams wrote. “Thank you for being the role model I needed to endure all the hardships that I now regard as a challenges [sic]—ones that I enjoy. I hope to teach my baby Alexis Olympia the same, and have the same fortitude you have had.”
