Serena Williams won her third French Open title on Saturday with a 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-2 victory over Lucie Safarova. The victory marked the 33-year-old’s 20th Grand Slam title. The match seemed like an easy win for Williams, until Safarova made a surprising comeback and sent the match to a third set. Safarova won the first two games of that third set and Williams won the last six. Williams is now two Grand Slam titles away from record holder Steffi Graf, who has 22.
