Doctor confirms no stroke in viral post-Grammys broadcast.

After days of speculation, Serene Branson’s doctor confirmed Thursday that her on-air slurred speech after Sunday night’s Grammy Awards was the result of a complex migraine, not a stroke. Dr. Neil Martin said Branson had given her permission to publicly discuss her condition, which has symptoms similar to a stroke, but the effects are fleeting. Branson’s 10-second Grammy broadcast began “Well, a very, very heavy burtation tonight” before she began speaking gibberish and eventually couldn’t speak at all—causing the station to cut to prerecorded Grammy coverage.
