A man on the run after being accused of a series of rapes, kidnappings, and robberies of female escorts has been captured. Gregory Lewis, 26, who is wanted in multiple states, was taken into custody around midnight on Tuesday night in the Village of Fort Edward, New York. He is wanted in several states, including North Carolina, Colorado, Oregon, and Indiana, and is the No. 1 fugitive on the Massachusetts State Police’s Most Wanted List. He would arrange meetings with women working for escort services, handcuff them, pull a gun on them, rob and sexually assault them. He’s been on the run since Sept. 15, when he cut off his GPS monitoring bracelet while in Massachusetts. He was on trial at that time for the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
