Seth Rogen Presents the Next ‘Walking Dead’?

        PREACH

Can Rogen and Evan Goldberg deliver AMC a much-needed hit?

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, known for writing and directing comedies like This Is the End and The Interview, are about to take a sharp turn into dramatic storytelling with a new series called Preacher, based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and artist Steve Dillon.

And last night, AMC premiered the first trailer during their hit The Walking Dead.

Written by Breaking Bad alum Sam Catlin, the religious-themed supernatural drama stars British actor Dominic Cooper as Texas preacher Jesse Custer. Also, there are vampires.

In the trailer, Cooper’s character can be seen promising to do very, very bad things to the father of a young boy, played by Thomas Barbusca, who you may recognize as the world’s meanest bully from Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.

Rogen and Goldberg are serving as executive producers on the project, which is clearly aiming to capture the same massive audience that tunes in to The Walking Dead each week. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next year to find out whether God-fearing vampires are anywhere near as compelling as brain-hungry zombies—the series’s release date is thus far a simple “2016.”
