Shepard Fairey Designs Colbert Olympics Poster

Shepard Fairey gave Obama “Hope,” but now the graphic artist is championing Stephen Colbert with a poster promoting the Comedy Central star’s Olympic coverage. Depicted in a mock-heroic pose, Colbert is shown holding a torch and riding a giant bald eagle above the words “Defeat the World!”—all in the artist’s signature red, white, and blue tones of course. The poster is now available for download on Colbert’s Web site and he’s asking fans to plaster them all over Canada’s Olympic city in an effort to “help spread the word about his historic visit to Canada.”
