Nikolas Cruz, the teenager suspected of opening fire on students at a high school in Parkland, Florida, on Wednesday, went to Walmart, Subway, and McDonald’s after the rampage, according to Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel. After the attack—which left 17 people dead—Cruz dropped his AR-15 rifle and his backpack and attempted to blend in with other students who were fleeing the school, Israel said. Cruz was arrested 40 minutes after leaving McDonald’s, the sheriff said.
