The sheriff department in Denver has decided to provide a heroin antidote to inmates in two of the city's jails who have been addicted to heroin and other opiates. These inmates are being trained on how to use naloxone nasal spray before they are released. Previously addicted inmates had received a prescription for the drug, which revives individuals when they have overdosed, but the prescriptions were not getting filled according to the department.
