Nearly a month after she lost her job, former USDA official Shirley Sherrod will meet with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack on Tuesday. Sherrod was forced to resign when Andrew Breitbart, a conservative blogger, posted a heavily edited video of her that made her appear racist. The NAACP, the USDA, and others jumped to condemn Sherrod before the excerpted film could be put in its context, which was a story about overcoming prejudice. Sherrod says that she’s meeting with Vilsack to discuss a new job.
