A 17-year-old boy charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of a friend in Chicago sent a Snapchat video admitting to the crime from the back of a police car, prosecutors say. Anthony Mendoza is accused of fatally shooting 16-year-old Christian Bandemer, who was shot in the chest Friday morning. “I killed Chris and now I’m going to kill myself,” Mendoza reportedly said in the video. Though police at first said the shooting may have been accidental, Assistant State’s Attorney Anna Sedelmaier said Sunday that Mendoza and Bandemer were alone when the gun went off and that Mendoza had told a cousin “not to snitch” about what happened.
