A shopping mall fire in Siberia killed 37 people on Sunday, according to Russian news agencies. A spokesman for the firefighters at the scene said 67 people were unaccounted for, including 40 children. Russia’s Investigative Committee said 30 people were taken to the local hospital for injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown and authorities have reportedly “launched a criminal investigation,” according to Radio Free Europe. People were also seen “jumping from windows to escape” while the fire raged. Firefighters were able to evacuate more than 100 people from the multi-story mall in the city of Kemerovo. The mall reportedly housed an “entertainment complex, a cinema, a zoo, and several restaurants.”
