Just 2.5 inches more in height may bring a big reduction in heart-disease risk, according to a new study in which scientists tested a decades-old rumor they had treated as a joke. The study looked at 200,000 people worldwide, and found that just a couple of inches could reduce the risk of heart disease by 13.5 percent.
