On Friday, Sierra Leone ordered everyone in the country to remain indoors for three days in an attempt to stop the devastating Ebola virus from spreading. Police officers, soldiers, and almost 30,000 volunteers went house to house, educating people about the dangers of Ebola and identifying those who might pass the disease on. “Some of the things we are asking you to do are difficult, but life is better than these difficulties,” President Ernest Bai Koroma said in a radio address on Thursday night. Sierra Leone’s lockdown marks the most aggressive government campaign against the epidemic so far.
