Beginning on September 18, Sierra Leone will impose a four-day “lockdown” aimed at preventing Ebola from spreading any further. Citizens will be forced to stay in their homes to keep the virus from spreading and to allow health workers to identify early-stage cases. “The aggressive approach is necessary to deal with the spread of Ebola once and for all,” a presidential advisor on Sierra Leone’s Ebola task force told Reuters. 491 of the total 2,097 Ebola-related deaths in South African have been in Sierra Leone.
