Sierra Leone Landslide Kills at Least 200

Heavy rains left families to dig through mud in search of loved ones.

An overnight landslide in Sierra Leone killed more than 200 people Monday. Mud and heavy flooding left homes submerged and roads became “churning rivers of mud,” according to witnesses and footage from the scene. The death toll is likely to rise, as bodies continue to be dug out of the mud and reported. The hospital mortuary is overwhelmed by the increasing number of bodies, an official said.
