Singer Sinead O’Connor released a tearful video saying she’s suicidal and living “in a Travelodge motel in the arse-end of New Jersey,” sparking new concerns for her mental health. O’Connor, who gained stardom in the 1990s with her hit “Nothing Compares 2 U,” has repeatedly caused concern among her fans in recent years with public meltdowns and calls for help. The 50-year-old singer says she’s been driven to thoughts of suicide by “three mental illnesses” that have scared people away and brought stigma. “I’m begging, begging, begging, begging to be brought home, for somebody who loves me to come and get me,” she said. “I’m all by myself and there’s absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist, the sweetest man on earth, who says I’m his hero, and that’s about the only thing keeping me alive at the moment… and that’s kind of pathetic,” she said.
