Libyan government forces in Sirte say they have gained more ground against ISIS, taking back the city’s main mosque and reclaiming a prison used by the terror group’s “morality police.” Nine fighters were killed and 85 wounded in Sunday’s battle to reclaim the territory, as UN-backed Libyan forces got closer to liberating the city. Representatives for the Libyan forces said they used tanks and heavy artillery to advance on the prison and the mosque, where ISIS clerics had preached to the group’s fighters. “Dozens” of bodies of ISIS militants were reportedly found in the newly freed areas of Sirte, though it was not clear when they were killed.
