Cleveland police are seeking the public’s help after six children were shot late Friday on a street corner, one of them fatally. Local media cited a police spokeswoman on Saturday saying a 12-year-old boy who’d stepped outside his father’s workplace was the deceased victim. He’d reportedly gone outside to investigate sounds of a shooting. Five other boys aged 12 to 16 were injured in the shooting and remain hospitalized. One of them suffered a gunshot wound to the head, police told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Police initially said they did not believe the incident was gang related, though no further details have been released on the investigation. No arrests have been reported.
