Six Die in Rare Winter Tornadoes

Six people died in tornadoes that tore through Arkansas and Missouri Friday. Tornadoes are rare in winter but they were fueled, in this case, by unusually warm air coming up from the South. Tornadoes also touched down in Illinois and Mississippi, with less-disastrous consequences. Forty-two people died in the U.S. during tornado strikes in 2010.
