Six Inmates Escape Central California Jail Using Homemade Rope: Officials

One of the men who escaped, 22-year-old Fabian Cruz Roman, is currently facing murder charges, according to the Merced Sun-Star.

Six men escaped the Merced County Jail in Central California, authorities said on Sunday. According to the local ABC affiliate station, authorities believe the men accessed the jail’s roof, and were able to rappel down to the ground using a homemade rope. One of the men who escaped, Fabian Cruz Roman, 22, is currently facing murder charges, according to the Merced Sun-Star. Authorities say that all six of the men should be considered armed and dangerous.
