Six Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli troops during a mass protest along the Gaza border, Gaza’s Health Ministry said. Palestinian authorities say four were killed in a single location, where the Israeli military had confirmed that it opened fire on Palestinian protesters trying to climb the fence. At least 140 Palestinians were also reportedly wounded by live bullets in the deadliest day of protests in recent months. The flare-up in violence comes as Hamas holds near-weekly protests along the border, with 14,000 Palestinians said to have taken part in the latest protest on Friday. In a separate incident, a woman living in the West Bank was killed Saturday after being hit in the head with a stone said to have been thrown by Israeli settlers, Palestinian authorities said. Israeli police say they are investigating the death of Aisha Rabi, 48, who was hit in the head while traveling with her family to their home in Bidya.
