Cowboys, aliens, and smurfs! The Steven Spielberg–backed Cowboys & Aliens, starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, seemed like a safe bet for this weekend’s top box-office spot, but the 3D Smurfs movie is estimated to tie it with $36.2 million. The Smurfs has been critically derided and was expected to earn far less. Meanwhile the romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love has taken in $19.3 million.
