According to a CNN/ORC poll of those who watched the presidential debate Sunday night, some 57 percent said they believed Hillary Clinton won the contest. Only 34 percent felt the same way about Donald Trump. Clinton’s reported victory wasn’t quite as strong as the 62 percent who believed she won their first debate, and 58 percent of those who watched said they were already supporting the Democratic candidate before the debate even began. The debate came after a week of scandals for both candidates, and the head-to-head battle was hotly anticipated.
