Taran Killam, known best as a Saturday Night Live cast alum, will be joining the cast of the Broadway smash hit Hamilton in January, producer Jeffrey Seller announced Wednesday. According to producers, Killam will be taking on the role of King George starting January 17th. Killam has been recognized for his comedic chops, not his musical capacity, but co-starring in Little Shop of Horrors with Jake Gyllenhaal in 2015 and performing in one of Lin Manuel Miranda's #Ham4Ham shows earlier in 2016, Killam proved otherwise. He was unceremoniously let go from SNL following the show’s 41st season, despite his multi-season run as a cast member, including his early impression of Donald Trump just as the president-elect entered the GOP race in 2015.
