It's a veritable trend. Fresh off the recent hire of its first African-American female actress in five years, Saturday Night Live announced it would add two African-American women to the writer's room. Comedians LaKendra Tookes and Leslie Jones will begin next week after being discovered at recent auditions in New York City and Los Angeles. It was the first time SNL specifically focused on recruiting African-American women.
