Snow Melt Reveals Dead Dogs

Piles of snow has covered the ground in Detroit for months, but now that it’s finally melting, locals are getting a grisly and tragic sight. Melting snow has revealed masses of dead dogs—at least 28 so far, according to the Detroit Animal Welfare Group, and they say that is just the “tip of the iceberg.” DAWG board member Nicole Litzelman said the snow had enabled people to discard dead dogs without being noticed, and the cold weather had killed many that lived outside.
