Edward Snowden is applying for an extension in his asylum in Russia for one more year. His current stay expires July 31. Snowden has been living in Russia since June 24, 2013, after he released intelligence documents from multiple U.S. agencies. Apparently, his lawyer did not comment on whether Snowden would be changing his status—i.e., pursuing Russian citizenship.
