The Norwegian Academy of Literature and Freedom of Expression may be forced to hold a ceremony awarding Edward Snowden its Bjornson prize at the country's border with Russia, leaders said, out of fears that the whistleblower will be extradited to the U.S. if he steps foot on Norwegian soil. "As far as I can understand, direct contact at the border is not allowed. In that case, we have to place the prize on the border, and Snowden will walk on from the Russian side to receive it," said the academy's head. "It would be quite a symbolic ceremony." The Norwegian government has received at least two official U.S. requests to extradite Snowden.
