Astronaut Andrew Feustel almost had to call off a spacewalking mission after getting soap in his eye. Feustel and fellow astronaut Mike Fincke were running cables from the U.S. side of the international space station to the Russian side when Feustel told Fincke, “My right eye is stinging like crazy right now. It's watering a lot.” Turns out it was an anti-fogging solution on the inside of his helmet, which is basically the same as dishwashing soap. Feustel was able to rub his eye on a foam pad inside his helmet meant for clearing ears.
