Alan Dysert, who played con man Sean Cudahy on All My Children, has died at 75. His wife Michele announced his death in a Facebook post on Sunday, Oct. 23. No cause of death was revealed. In his 2023 autobiography, Lights, Camera, Cancer!, Dysert, however, revealed he had been diagnosed with an “incurable cancer.” He “faced more than his share of health challenges over the years,” Michele said in her post. He appeared in 79 episodes of the soap opera, All My Children, between 1980 and 1990. Raised on a farm in rural Illinois, Dysert studied television arts at the University of Illinois and worked in real estate before turning to stand-up comedy. He made his acting debut on Soap in 1978 and landed All My Children shortly after. “My scenes are written better than stuff on nighttime TV,” he told People in 1981. The Illinois farm boy later became an acting teacher. His wife said thousands looked up to him as a mentor. He is survived by Michele and his two sons, Cody and Cooper.
