Legendary soul singer Bobby Womack, the man behind hits including “Lookin’ For A Love” and “That’s the Way I Feel About ‘Cha,” died on Friday at the age of 70. A Cleveland native, Womack began his career by singing gospel songs in a touring band with his brothers, The Valentinos. The group scored a No. 8 hit with “Lookin’ For A Love” but disbanded in 1964 when their mentor, Sam Cooke, was shot and killed in Los Angeles. Womack raised eyebrows by marrying Cooke’s widow three months later. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 and had begun a career renaissance in 2012 with the release of critically acclaimed album The Bravest Man in the Universe.
