The music industry just lost a legend. Solomon Burke, the soulful dynamo who bellowed his way through the ‘60s with songs including “Cry to Me” and “Just Out of Reach (Of My Two Open Arms)” died today in Amsterdam. He was 70 years old. The Philly-born singer and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame most recently won a Grammy in 2002 for the blues album Don’t Give Up on Me. His dramatic, emotional performances and elaborate robes lent him the nickname, the “King of Rock ‘n’ Soul.”
