A source said Monday that Walt Disney Co. will cut 200 jobs—or about 5 percent of its work force—from its movie studio, to focus more on home-entertainment options. The cuts are expected to be announced internally next week. With the decline in DVD sales, the studio wants to focus on new ways to distribute DVDs—especially after the rise of Netflix and on-demand cable TV. The studio has been realigning its distribution over the last 18 months and has been bringing in more films from Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Studios and Marvel.
