Could it really already be time for an iPad upgrade? Apple thinks so: Sources say the company has begun producing a new version of its debut tablet computer. The new iPad, these sources say, will be thinner, lighter, and come with more memory. Additionally, it will have a more powerful graphics processor and a front-facing camera—a new feature that will be good for video conferencing. The resolution will stay the same. Also, the sources said, the new iPad will be available through Verizon Wireless and AT&T, though not Sprint or T-Mobile. A spokesman for Apple refused to comment. In its first year, Apple’s iPad has sold 14.8 million units and contributed 17 percent of the company’s overall sales.
