South Korea Beats US in Robot Challenge

Challenge mirrored 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdown.

A South Korean team is taking home the $2 million prize at the DARPA Robotics Challenge after its robot won a challenge mirroring the 2011 Japanese Fukushima nuclear meltdown. The two day competition involved robots working their way through an obstacle course, opening values, punching walls, and clearing rubble. A total of 24 robots made it to the finals. Twelve of them were from the US, five from Japan, three from South Korea, two from Germany, and one each from Italy and Hong Kong.
