That’s one long voyage. After spending 165 days in space, a Russian Soyuz capsule carrying three astronauts landed safely in Kazakhstan on Tuesday morning. NASA’s Michael Fossum, Russian cosmonaut Sergei Volkov, and Satoshi Furukawa of Japan’s JAXA space agency are all in good condition. NASA’s Dan Burbank and Russians Anton Shkaplerov and Anatoly Ivanishin remain on board the International Space Station. Having arrived there last Wednesday, they are expected to return to Earth in March. Next month another launch will bring three more astronauts to the station, which normally has a six-person crew.
