St. Louis Teen Fired at Officer First

The Missouri Highway Patrol says residue tests and ballistic evidence have concluded that Vonderitt D. Myers Jr., who was fatally shot by an off-duty St. Louis police officer last week, fired first. The evidence supports the officer's claim that the Myers fired at least three shots before he returned fire. Myers’s family has insisted that the 18-year-old was holding a sandwich, not a gun. The incident sparked protests in the Shaw neighborhood near St. Louis last weekend, which was two months since a police officer fatally shot Michael Brown.
