Stars Come Out for Pre-Emmy Party

It was a monster mash at Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film’s pre-Emmy party at the Sunset Marquis Hotel Friday, with a full host of HBO’s True Blood stars in attendance. Newlyweds Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer skipped the press line, but Sam Trammell lingered to drop the spoiler that there would be a cliffhanger in the show’s September 12 finale. Jeremy Piven, who already has three Emmys, talked about how playing the apoplectic Ari Gold on Entourage, also on HBO, is cathartic, saying that he gets to smash cellphones and laptops and "just get to say all these things that you can't say in society. ... I get to go on these rants. It's my therapy." Kathy Griffin, wearing an Oscar de la Renta, said that she wants Levi Johnston to come on Dancing With the Stars with Bristol Palin, letting slip that "I think she'd say yes. I think we've seen her say yes before, if you know what I'm saying."
