Don’t let the 14th Amendment stand in their way: At least five states will begin a coordinated effort next week to deny U.S. citizenship to children of illegal immigrants born in this country. Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Missouri are among those states, while Georgia, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina are all considering Arizona-style bills that allow police to question and detain anyone they suspect of being here illegally. Georgia is also looking at a bill to ban illegal immigrants from public universities.
