Officials said on Monday a gas leak at a factory in eastern China left 10 people dead and seven others hospitalized. The Zouping County government said 17 people suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning and five of them died immediately during the leak on Saturday. Five more people died early Sunday. The cause of the leak was still under investigation. The deadly incident is the latest in a series of industrial accidents gripping China. Government officials have come under pressure to reform safety regulations after a chemical blast in Tianjin killed at least 140 people in August.
