Michael Steele has reached his tipping point: The Republican National Committee chairman, who is broadly unpopular among his base, will announce tomorrow whether he will seek reelection to a second term. Supporters say he’s unlikely to throw his hat in the ring again, considering that he hasn’t built up a reelection staff or demonstrated any stepped-up fundraising. However, others aren’t counting him out. Steele will reveal his decision in a conference call with committee members Monday evening. Several challengers have already indicated their candidacy, including former Missouri party chairwoman Ann Wagner.
