Team USA’s men’s basketball is back in the running for their fifth gold medal after Steph Curry lifted the team from a 17-point rut to win against Serbia. The final score was 95-91, and, according to Yahoo Sports, Curry broke a record of his own during the game by scoring 36 points—the most he’s scored in any Olympic game. LeBron James scored a cool 16. Team Serbia was led by superstar Nikola Jokić, who scored 17 points for his home country, but Bogdan Bogdanovic scored the most with 20 points. Serbia will now face off against Germany during the bronze medal game on Saturday. Team USA will take to the court later in the day and go head-to-head against France and 7’4” Victor Wembanyama, who led France to victory on Thursday in their nail-biter 73-69 game against Germany. Following the game, an emotional Wembanyama told the Washington Post, Saturday’s gold game is “a chance to write history.”
